Terms and Conditions for Application
In applying to join Reaching4stars database all applicants agree to accept and observe these simple terms and conditions.
Reaching4stars are not obliged to accept an application if it is deemed unsuitable.
These terms and conditions have been drawn up to clarify your obligations to reaching4stars and the companies we work with and what you can expect from us in return.
In essence we aim to ensure we all work together in harmony and without any misunderstandings of responsibilities. You agree to :
- Note that applications are welcome from all, irrespective of race,age or sex but as employees of Reaching4stars are generally chosen in cooperation with our clients, Reaching4stars cannot guarantee you constant employment.
- Be punctual and arrive on location fifteen minutes prior to production or event start time. All Reaching4stars personnel should arrive at location wearing the company branding when directed. All personnel should ensure that they have in their possession any clothing/equipment/props that have been agreed in advance.
- Conduct yourself in a safe, friendly and co-operative manner and represent the company professionally at all times. In particular you will take all reasonable steps to ensure your own safety and that of any others you encounter.
- Remember that you will be carrying out paid work and therefore any decisions taken by Reaching4stars on matters pertaining to your participation will be final (although where possible we shall always seek to address any reasonable query or concern) and we may terminate your work with immediate effect if you fail to adhere to the decisions taken.
- Arising from (4) above note that whilst we shall always aspire for military accuracy, film and TV directors sometimes have other priorities (eg overall ambience or how clothing and equipment might affect the camera) you agree to addres any queries to the Reaching4stars staff and not the production crew. Such issues should be passed to the Reaching4stars on-set coordinator, Team Leaders or by contacting the Company Directors.
- Accept direction on set from members of the production crew.
- Agree to sign standard film release forms as required.
- Note that location catering will usually be provided free of charge. Any exceptions to this will be informed prior to the job commencing.
- Note that filming can include a long day normally up to 10 hours including breaks. If filming is likely to take longer the Reaching for stars co-ordinator will liaise with the production crew and brief accordingly including what rates of overtime pay is agreed (and where overnight accomodation is required and what costs are covered by the production team).
- Note that the weather can be inclement and whilst shelter is often available this is not always possible, so it is advisable to take suitable clothing to provide additional comfort.
- Note our payment terms: You will be paid by cheque or bank transfer if you are employed on a regular basis. Payment will be passed to you as soon as Reaching4stars have received payment from the client (and in certain circumstances upon receipt of an invoice from you). Whilst Reaching4stars will aspire to attain early payment within 30 days, you agree to be patient if this is not forthcoming for any reason and to contact Reaching4stars for an update in the meantime. Where it is possible to arrange payment on completion of a single-day shoot or on the final day of filming, if you are participating for more than one day, or shortly afterwards we shall do so. We will inform all participants of the specific payment terms at the earliest opportunity prior to filming.
- Note that if you are employed elsewhere Reaching4stars will be obliged to deduct tax and employee's National Insurance contribution from your fee prior to payment. Self-employed personnel can invoice us accordingly and administer their tax/NI themselves.
- Note that Reaching4stars will provide advance details of the location,times and any special requirements together with rates of pay.
- Note that you will be covered by public liability insurance(the production company, Reaching4stars or other as appropriate) whilst employed by Reaching4stars. Details to be confirmed prior to the commencement of employment.
- Note you will be informed, when possible, if the production company's terms and conditions vary significantly from the above.
- Note that these terms and conditions also apply to any particiants engaged by any groups/societies or company subcontracted by Reaching4stars unless specifically agreed otherwise. It is the responsibility of the subcontracted group/societies or company to ensure their participants are fully informed and adhere to the terms and conditions as agreed.
- Note that all submitted details will be held on our computer database.
- Note that Reaching4stars Terms and Conditions may change. All employees will be informed of any such ammendments.
Notes
(1) A Reaching4stars co-ordinator may not be required for certain events. In this case a "Team Leader" may be appointed instead.
